The Dodgers Are NL West Champions, As Walker Buehler Drops An F-Bomb On The Stadium Mic And On Live TV

For the SIXTH consecutive year, the LA Dodgers are kings of the NL West. What a long, strange journey it’s been for them, though. On June 9, the Dodgers were a .500 team at 32-32. With the Rockies and Dbacks never letting up until the very end, of the six straight years that the Dodgers have won the division, this was their most vulnerable. I remember back at the end of April when the Dodgers had fallen to 12-16, and manager Dave Roberts’ confidence in his guys never wavered.

That take aged very, very well. Since their 12-16 start, the Dodgers have gone 80-55, the second best record in the National League behind the Milwaukee Brewers from May 1 on. It wasn’t an easy road, but I’m sure those guys wouldn’t want it any other way. Shout out to Walker Buehler for going six and two thirds innings of one-hit, shutout ball before handing it over to the bullpen. The 24-year-old capped off his day with an F-bomb on the stadium mic and on live TV. Instant fan favorite move right there.

I also love how Kenley Jansen showed little to no emotion after striking out the final batter he faced to clinch the division, too. That’s the perfect example of “act like you’ve been there before,” because the Dodgers have been there before. Six years in a row.
